How hard and how much?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm looking at buying a 1977 Datsun 620 longbed and would like to know how hard It would be to swap the breaks to disc breaks and how much it would cost? also what do you think of it as a first car? I went and looked at it today and it ran good started first try without a problem and clutch was like new, lost of new parts and it comes with a turbo, heres the link http://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/4388551304.html . The car I've driven the most is a 09 Mercadies benz c350 so I am aware of how much more work these cars are than new cars are to drive and mechanical wise. let me know what you think.

Did it have street sign floor boards?

My friend Matt put that together. Get it.

That thing is solid.

I cried when I found out he sold it.

Then I found out he got a roofless S-10 after.

He was never a Ratsun member though.

As far as discs-you will need the brackets Bee or MKlotz sells to convert to disc.

Then you will need the calipers and rotors that go with each kit.

Not a difficult job. Not too expensive either.

There are TONS of threads about this here.

BUY IT!

^ That was pinned to the very top of the brake sub-section.

If you get a rough response, there has been a lot of newbies asking obvious questions a google search would have netted you.

(Your thread included.)

I'm not normally as nice either. I'm helping because I know this truck well and want to see it on Ratsun.

Search using Google. Include "Ratsun" as a keyword to help you find your wanted info.

The white box under the car at the top of every page is our search feature and it works. Type in '620 disc brake swap' or a variant of this and start reading. This is a common swap and more than well covered with all your answers.
