I believe others have mentioned header clearance issues with factory fuel pump.  YMMV.

it apears to have ample clearance of fuel pump and torsion bar. $133.00

completed today . installed standard modern type seal into front cover by grinding away the outer
lip that retains the felt seal. leaving the inner welded on flange. this must be done slowly so not to
take off to much material. order a seal # 1213n timken or cross it . i tried to find one with rubberized coating but failed . i also put a very small bead of grey silicone around inner flange
to seal againts the new seal . a friend has done this with sucess on a daily driver. mine came out well
have yet to install.

I didn't see anything like this on JT Outfitters site.  Here's what Tri-Mil lists for Datsuns... http://www.tri-mil.c...ex.php?cPath=21 ... all L-series motors.  Have you got a link to the header you posted?

Good info guys keep up the posting..  Mos tlikely i know the parts I listed as with others will take a little tweaking to fit properly but these do provide an option.

 

As far as doing business with Pierce Manifolds they are a top notch dealer. I have ordered from them for over a decade and not 1 problem.

I used these instead of stock on my 1966 520. Not sure if they are legal where you are. These are DOT approved and only draw 10 amps each on brights turning on and 5 amps each continuous.  No, stock wiring changes needed, but I would go ahead and wire in relays for at least the high beam circuit and another for the low beam circuit.  These are glass faced and closely match the curvature of the stock sealed beams.  I would order an extra set of replacement bulbs other than the Hella's as the Hella's seam to not last long.  Also your stock headlight plugs, plugs into these bulbs.  I am using my stock wiring and plugs, but I have not actually run these lights using the stock Datsun plugs.  I might set up a test with these lights and let them run say 8 hours on high beam and see if it melts the stock plug.  I will edit this post after I run this test.

XXL the intake & header listed I purchased from ebay . the header was from JT . they are listed as a mg or mgb or austin performance parts.My header may need a slight adjustment at fuel pump. i may put header wrap on it aswell. I like cool fuel .

10A each???  That's 120 watts per bulb.  Are you sure?  Most high beams are in the 55-65 watt range.  At 5 watts, low beam is 60 watts... also, very high for a low beam, which is typically 45 watts.  Just asking.

2 High beams 10 amps at start at time bulbs light then draws 5 amps.  2 low beams start at about 8 amps and then draws continuous 4 amps. The Hella Bulbs that shipped with the glass housing are as you said 55 to 65 watts which is DOT legal.

 

Did this last night when I could not sleep.

Yes Hella makes high power non DOT approved bulbs that you can buy but these are 55 to 65 watt bulbs.  Check the link for the Hella bulbs and you will see the variety of colors available.  Also states the wattage.

Yello620 committed on another forum That he used these on his C10 pickup and within 5000 miles the headlight plugs melted.  After reading this I realized it is not the amperage draw but the heat generated from the halogen bulb that melts the plugs.  I am going to go ahead and purchase the ceramic plugs for the halogen bulbs and wire in 2 relays to protect my wiring.  I will do a write up when I do this.

Anybody know of a good source for a fuel pump heat shield?  I'd rather not fabricate my own and have it look like crap, and I looked up the Nissan part number and can't find it available anywhere. 

 

It's getting embarrassing to have it struggle starting on hot days, right after someone is asking me questions about the truck.

Have you seen the stock heat shield? It looks homemade. You can make a nicer one.
