May be part of the seatbelt interlock system as you have a 74. I'd have to check a wiring schematic to be certain though. Looks like it came from the engine bay.

If you followed it to carb choke then it probably is the relay for that.

The relay is really there for one reason. It only warms the choke and shuts it off IF... the motor is running. To do this there has to be alternator out put for the relay to warm the choke. Here's an example... It's sub zero, you go out and start your Datsun and it fires up with the choke on and fast idle. You go back in to keep warm and finish your coffee while the windows defrost, BUT unknown to you the motor stalls. Without the relay to shut the choke heater off, the choke continues to warm up and turns off. You go out to a completely cold motor and try to restart without the benefit of a choke which, if cold enough, is next to impossible.

 

 

If you are not worried about the cold and as summer is almost here you can simply connect the choke on the carb to the idle cut solenoid right beside it and it can be powered from there. This will keep you going and save you a lot of gas while looking for a 'new' relay.
