Not fond of box flairs. They ruin the body lines and look like hell just because it's easier to fit the wrong rims. Big wide tires aren't needed on a small 510 anyway and some home work figuring out the corrct wheel width and off set will go a long way to preserving the 510's good looks. Never never never buy rims and then make the car fit them. This is as bad as marrying your high maintenance girl friend. You'll have to make all the changes for a good fit. Find out what fits and works first then go shopping. Always buy sensible shoes. Most people have terrible taste in rims so go for fit over looks.

So, buy tires that fit?, thanks. (The wheels were on the car at purchase and barreled to meet the body line)

The biggest street tire 15's of an appropriate diameter are going to be 225/45 or /50 if you like a taller tire.  For wider 15" sizes you will need to look into (D.O.T.) slicks like Hoosiers, they offer a 245/40 and 275/35.

225/45 on a 9" wheel:

Then read the tire size that's on the rims now.

Take a good look at the strut clearance. Some tires are wider than others. You can buy a narrower pair for the front with the same height and 'stretch' them to fit a wider rim.

If you already have box flairs run any size you like, won't matter. But don't box flair it just to fit something wider.

King Rat, the car had very old racing drags, BFGs with the flying shoe and all. The size read 25x9.5. So that didn't help much when I took them in, the fronts were 205's. For the rear I will most likely have to go with 225's. Hope it doesn't look horrible. Not a fan of the stretched look. The cars been boxed since the early 80s. Molded in full flares, Neely Motosports.
