just saw a Great Alice Cooper cover band last week in my town. Don Bolles from the Germs sang, a couple of the guys used to play in the Seeds. Whenever Don comes to town I go hang out.

Ho hell yes. part of my 80s heritage.

 

At the time that show came out I didn't own a TV.

 

But.

 

I fractured 2 vertebrae iin my mid back. The doctor said they could place me in body traction in hospital for 6 weeks, with the steel pins in the skull and femurs and cables with weights while flat on a narrow plank that could be rotated to put me on my face every other twelve hours.

 

Or I could get someone to put a sheet of plywood on my bed and I could stay home, no traction.

 

I chose the stay at home version of recovery.

 

Things got boring in a hurry, so I ordered a TV from Sears, and called Viacom and had cable run to the house.

 

And the first show I saw on my new TV was Max Headroom. What a hoot. Bummed me out that the show didn't last as long as my recovery.

Holy shit what an insane connection that is. It was beyond anything on TV at the time, but there was something about Max Headroom that had to be short lived. Something that intensely bright can only last so long before becoming gimmicky. First time I saw him though, I was an instant addict.
