JMAYHALL
I had to replace the rear wheel cylinders on my 76 B210, but the cylinders are extended too far and I can't get the wheel hub over the brake shoes. I tried putting it in a vise to get it to retract but it doesn't go in any more. Is there a way to adjust these wheel cylinders or did they send me the wrong one? It looks identical to the ones I took off the car. Thanks for your help Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Yes, there is a way to adjust them. Turn the 1/4" square behind the backing plate. Quote Link to comment
JMAYHALL
Thanks, I'll look for it. I didn't notice anything on it. Is it near where the bleeder screw is? Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Take a quarter inch square drive socket. Find a quarter inch hex wrench [not that hard, believe me for now]. Put the quarter inch normal hex end into the socket and the normal square drive end onto the stud. Then torque away! You would obviously not be surprised at how many ACE Technicians I have had to personally instruct in this little Datsun peculiarity! This has worked for the last 46 years for me. Many "expert" mechanics can't find it and will tell you that there is "no" rear brake adjuster. They are obviously ill informed or lazy. 1 Quote Link to comment
