Ranman72
more new parts I took the car for a test run today after fixing the wire problem and ended up towing it back home with my truck somehow along with the broken wire problem the fuel line was plugged up it was sucking air bubbles into the fuel filter I thought the fuel filter might be cracked so I replaced it with another new one I tried to blow back through the fuel line to the tank and it had alot of resistance so I got the air hose out I heard a pop in the fuel tank and then bubbles so far so good seems to be ok I will half to drain the tank to see what might have plugged it Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
That's a 510 room lamp. The 1200 version has a milky lens. The 510 crystal lens looks better and works better too. 1 Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
so today i dug into the fuel tank drained it and pulled the sender unit. The sender was not working so I sanded the contacts and bent the spring arm to have more pressure on the resister to my surprise I found alot of debris in the tank I filled and drained the tank about 8 times till all the debris came out I guess when I filled the tank halfway and drained it alot of the debris remained attached and loosened over time for the good stuff this was the debris in the bucket that made it through the mesh filter it is fine grime and now the fuel gauge works 4 Quote Link to comment

Ranman72
today we went on the bluebird cafe fun run total miles were 383 door to door this run was a blast we went on some very curvy roads and some were pretty bumpy too the run was a blast and an excellent shakedown on the 1200 we had one mechanical problem, the passenger strut gland nut came loose ( the nut that holds the strut insert in the case ) we stopped and jacked the car up found the nut to be loose , borrowed from another ratsuner a large pair of channel locks to tighten it I believe it was eastbay521 who supplied them we checked the drivers side while we were at it and it was ok [/uR L] Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
FWIW, all four of mine are like this. inners also use nylon nut and no cotter pin Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
If you want them to match, you can remove the nylock nut and put a castle nut & cotter pin, but the nylock works well enough. Quote Link to comment
Ranman72
they dont need to match it was just interesting that manufactured in different places but sold under the same label had different styles Quote Link to comment

Ranman72
so we had some fuel problems on the way back from the alignment shop it seems everything on this car has to be done at least twice so I drained the fuel tank again and this came out right away so I filled and repeat about 15 times I quit taking pics after about 5 also found one of the small rattles the car had in the rear an old exhaust hanger piece was hitting the side of the shock I will cut that off tomorrow Quote Link to comment
