Recommended Posts

Hello!

Im a guy from Sweden (excuse my english, i hope you understand me) and i bought a Datsun 120AF-|| cupé a wile back. I don't know a thing about this car and I have a hard time finding information about this car. Maybe there wasn't so many built at all? I know that there is just six cars in sweden, if they are nice like mine i don't know.

So please, do you know anything about this model or where to find parts and people who knows a thing or two about this etc. please tell me!

Greetings from Sweden

Hannes, welcome to Ratsun. We love Datsuns and learning more about them. I or someone else may know the 120AF II coupe by another name here. Perhaps you would be kind enough to post a picture of your baby?

I just picked up a USA version of a 1977 Datsun F10 Hatchback (coupe ). I also have a 1978 F10 Sport Wagon. Neither of them are as nice as yours, wow that Datsun is nice! BUT MOSTLY I am extremely jealous of the factory headlight wipers I see on you car, awesome. After some research I see they were only offered in Sweden.

the way these wipers turns is just the best! Im glad you like the car! The interior is mint and the exterior is very good, especially for a swedish car

I imagined that each head light wiper would have it's own motor (like the windshield washer motor pump). Then it would have a shaft within a tube coming straight up to the middle of the headlight which in turn would drive a tiny flat drive gear (like in a rear diff) and that turns the wiper blade like a clock handle. Am I close?

I also wish to drop both of  my F10's about 3". I am planning on following datzenmike's suggestion of the "lock collar" method. Happily my undercoating is in great shape and have no under carriage rot problems (no snow or salt helps). I will be looking for a couple of fenders to eradicate my rust and that would also have fender mirror mount points. Happily where we live there are no inspections but due to the age of the car it would be exempt anywhere else in the US of A.

We are looking at different JDM wheels that were offered on the F10's to decide which ones to hunt down.

On another note, the front bucket seats in the USA version's were inferior to the ones that I see you have and that the rest of the world that bought a Datsun 120AF-II have. I believe that your seats are the same as our 1977-78 280Z's would have but with a different upholstery pattern. I will be tracking down a set of Z seats to match the rest of the world in comfort and style.

Last but not least we plan on buying some automotive grade carpet to mould into our F10's.

I look forward to seeing your progress.

If you wish to see pictures of our rigs you can follow the F10 links I have posted in this same forum.
