Here we go! This is a build thread for Barry Brown's 1979 Datsun 620 Gasser. This truck has been a few years in the making but this year he plans to have her running!

Some members may know some of Barry's other work.

Needless to say this 'ball buster' never rests. This is what happens when the coffee in the pot at Riters Restorations in East Rochester, NY is ready to drink.

Blessed by Ohio George himself!

Give it a gasser stance.

And that's how it has been while Barry worked on other projects. After a short stint in Rallycross Barry renewed his interest in the project and the pictures I am about to post are within the last 2 months of working on it.

Hands involved include:
Barry Brown
John Cordaro
Jeff Benson
Craig Collister
Devin Colbert

Pics from December with the cab painted. Doors and fender hung and the hood installed.

These things are great at taking off paint.

It takes forever and has been a team effort.

I am hoping to finish sanding the bed floor next weekend. I am the one holding up the show. Only had 2 hours to grind today so I only got the front driver side corner cleaned up.

I'll have more to follow after next weekend! Stay tuned and let us know what you think!

Also...thanks to Greg aka AZHitman we scored a set of Datsun factory fog lights with yellow Datsun covers new in the box. We can't thank Greg enough for this wonderful find and addition to this truck!

Stay tuned!!

The only reason I brought up routing the fuel line is because I'm going to be doing that myself soon, when the cab goes back on the body.  I thought NHRA rules mandated running the fuel line on the outside of the frame rail and a maximum of 12 inches of standard fuel line to allow for chassis flex only.  This was excluding the use of stainless braided line.  I'm going to run stainless  hard line (send and return) on the outside of the frame and since the intake is on the passenger side of the car (as well as the stock tank) I can run it straight down the right side of the frame.

Just reminding members that I am just the guy posting the truck for the owner. Barry Brown from Riter Restorations is the owner and builder of the truck. I am just a helpful pain in the ass when he needs me around.

The paint is '58 Cadillac blue.

I was told by Barry I am slacking in the updates dept so here goes...

The sounds of a V8 Chevy with open headers. First time running with everything hooked up. Needs to be timed but runs good with the tri-pack. It'll knock the wax right out of your ears.
