banzai510(hainz)
This is what I do. get a pcs of paper and pencil!!!!!!!!! Now the 1st cam lobe in from will be #1 and the back will be #8 Now start with a lobe that closest to pointing up(12 o clock position).Be honest if its in the 10 to 2 O clock position is good enough. Now loosen the 17mm jam nut so the 14 14mm will be loose enough to move. Now turn it Up/Down to get he valve lash correct. I do .008intake and .010 on peoples cars/trucks. Now then you tighten the 17mm jam nut down becareful the 14mm(post) doesnt follow. Meaning the 14mm post moves the same time as the 17mm jam nut thus changing the vlave lash gap.Mark on your paper!!! Then turn the crank CLOCKWISE and go to the next cam lobe that is up and start the process all over again till all 8 is done I myself run mine close to .006 intake and .008 exhaust Quote Link to comment

I think it was #3 #4 #2 #1.. Is there a reason to start at #1?? Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
.010 and .012 is fine I just like mine quieter. You can do the lobes as they come up as you did. Im just stating to write them down so You dont forget which ones you did. and keep turing the motor over and over again. Quote Link to comment
hang_510
arent those hot vs cold numbers? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
.010 and .012 are cold settings but it's much better to set hot at .08 and .010 when all the parts at maximum expansion. Quote Link to comment

mklotz70
The only prob with trying to do them hot is that you can't do it fast enough to maintain the heat. Once the valve cover is off, things start cooling off fast. Cold is more predictable and a lot less hectic if you haven't done it before. I'll do it hot if I think only one or two need adjusting. A lot of time is saved not having to adjust them all. Quote Link to comment
