MicroMachinery
Gotta pay to play. Unless you can find someone selling a used one, I think you're at the mercy of whomever has the ability to make you a new one. I haven't seen anybody making reproductions of these since I've been on the scene(8 yrs). Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
$600 is a great price for a one-off custom windshield. Have you called Pilkington Classics to see if they have any left? Quote Link to comment

danfiveten
What me and another guy were talking about, is get a place to re-produce, then see about a group deal and get other people in on it, i bet you (me being a ex 411 owner) if you had a shop that would put them out at a good price, a bunch of people would buy some and some spares for theirs. ggzilla
Yes., group buy at $600 is feasible Quote Link to comment
danfiveten
Usually a group buy the prices go down, a 1 off for 600 is seeable, but if you have 20-30 windshields being sold, heck even 10, it could get the price down to 2-300. Expensive part is making the mold for the glass, after that they want to make money. I know for 300-400 a piece id buy 2 windshields. ANd with the lack of avail of 411 windshields, i now some would want 2-3 as spares to put up. Quote Link to comment

That's just half of what I bought my RL411 for! In Montana by the way. Of course then the dollar was actually worth something, like 1 ounce of silver "payable on demand". Quote Link to comment
Theonewhomeeps
alright sounds good thanks guys Quote Link to comment
Johnlorio
I would go in on a windshield order. Given the rocks in New Mexico I should have spares. Quote Link to comment
raceneely
Ill go in for 3 of them if anyone wants to get the ball rolling on this. $ 600.00-$700.00 a unit would require approximately 20 windshields to be made I know from experience Quote Link to comment
exit64
Let me look into this. A bunch of us Roadster guys just did this and we got it down to under $300 delivered. The first batch did come back wrong by 10mm too narrow though so this takes patience. Everyone prepaid too so that you don't end up with a garage full of windshields when everybody backs out at the last second. But that would never happen on Ratsun, right. 1 Quote Link to comment

Borganism
Howdy, Not sure if a bulk buy helps me since in in Australia, any news on this progressing? I just bought a 411 wagon (today) and the windshield isnt there with the pile of parts. I'll get a custom one off unit made if I have to but figured I'd check here first. Paul Quote Link to comment
