P.R.TONY
Hi, this is my first datsun a 73 620. The tranny tail was broken so I put a new tranny(510 short tranny). I changed the slave and clutch master cylinder, the first 2 days the truck was running great but then the clucth pedal get very hard until it just move 1\2 inch. When the truck is off I can shifts gears but when ithe engine is running it won't shift even if the truck is push to start it in gear after is moving it don't let you shift. I'm thinking maybe the pressure plate or internal clutch components are damage?? Any ideas before I take the tranny out again, I don't want to take it down again lol!! Thanks! Quote Link to comment
WidowsSon
Did you also replace your throw out bearing? Was it making any noises before this issue happened? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Why change the master and slave??? Just because they are new is no guarantee that they are good. You may have put a bad one in. If you have the old ones put them back in. Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
Bad master or slave doesn't make a hard pedal - not usually at least. Quote Link to comment
P.R.TONY
Sorry guys i was having some problems with my password, had been doing a lot of stuff at the same time and forgot to check if some one answer. First of all THANKS for taking of your time and try to help, THANKS A LOT!!! . WidowsSon, yup i change the trow out bering, this was the only part that i change of the inner tranny. Datzenmike i change the slave because it was bad, it was leaking clutch fluid, and i change the master because a friend sell it to me verry cheap. Ggzilla i think as you, but i'm don't want to take out the tranny again. LOL!!It is a easy job, one day job... but the thing is that the plate that hold the drive shaft to the differencial( the one with the 4 bolts) doesn't want to get losse so i have to take the drive shaft out by taking the Ujoints apart, that is why i don't like to take the tranny out. Any how i think that i will have to do it, maybe something internaly is damage. I will try to doit this week and let you guys know what was the probles. THANKS!! Quote Link to comment

P.R.TONY
the old one was making noise. They sell me one a little smaller, in the auto shop, and they told me that it won't afect the function Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
the plate that hold the drive shaft to the differencial( the one with the 4 bolts) doesn't want to get losse Put it in first gear to prevent the shaft from turning. Then use two wrenches to get some leverage on the tight bolts: Quote Link to comment
