The L20b sits about an inch higher than the L16.

Well today was interesting. I didn't like how my braces looked under the hood so I decided to make a cover. I had a scrap piece of aluminum that was just barely the right size. So I got it all cut out and forgot that I dropped my bead roller and that it didn't work. So the rest of the day I ran all over town to get things to fix it. Finnally fixed it and ran the x pattern and called it good.
Spent the evening realigning everything. The doors are almost fitted. But they are both fucked up. I don't know if I will switch back to the original doors yet. I didn't use them because they need alot of body work, but they were nice in terms of shape around the perimeter. The passenger door has had some serious damage on the door bracing along the latch side. and I can't get it to go anymore forward, will wait till i get latches installed before making a decision.

Been busy preping the fenders, hood, doors, and rims. Got the fenders painted and the rims. The hood was suppossed to be done, but had a boo boo on the sealer coat. Try to paint hood tomorrow. Will give my insights on powder primer later. It's late and I want to get an early start tomorrow.
Was not going to reveal the color yet but oh well, here it is. VW color Antracite early 60's. I don't like 2 tone paint jobs, but I'm thinking black roof. What do you think?
And the rims. Can't wait to unwrap these!

Love how that paint on the fenders turned out, nice color too! A black roof ,or maybe another dark color, like blue ,would look great! I've got a rough area in the paint on the roof of my 521,& I'm thinking of painting the top of the roof white.

Working on frame stuff today. Really just getting measurements/ angles and finish stripping both frames. Need to swap over the l20 and 5 speed to figure out rear tranny mount.

So here is the hood
Rims with tires, just got the center waffle and cap so havn't had a chance to paint it yet
Been a crazy week trying to get this painted, but finally done.
Found I had some Datsun mats in the black truck. Didn't look this truck over very well. After taking the mats out found this.
Quick wipe job on mats.
Are these 521 or 620 or something else? Anybody interested in them, I won't be using them.
The 2 frames together
So I was hoping to do all the frame stuff this week and get the frame and pieces to powder coat next Friday. But unless my control arms get here soon and I can get spring bushing I can't really fab up all the things I need to.
With the Toyota rear end it looks like rear disk brakes are out. Since the drum setup is better I think I am sticking with that. So I couldn't get a real measurement but I roughly think it will be between 60.5" to 61.75" wide from outside tire edge to outside edge. Does anyone know what the maximum width that will fit under the wheel tubs? I need to machine the axles so the rims will sit flush then I can get an accurate measurement.
