well, that begs the question "wot is period correct?" Most cars you see on the street today are correct to this period by the very fact that they are here now but most are ten to fifteen years old. So if you mean period correct and contemporary are synonymous then most cars are not period correct to their rims.

Look at it this way, if you watch Streets of San Francisco all the cars (besides the Ford supplied ones) are a mishmash of years and mostly old sixties and fifties vehicles. It had an authentic "feel" to the filming especially since it was filmed at the time with the general public as the backdrop. Now go watch a movie like American Gangster that was filmed recently but is set back then. all the cars are within five or six years of the supposed date and are, many times, in perfect condition and fully restored. You never see a broke-ass, single-mom, wagon with a taped quarter window and a rag for a gas cap. It's cool to see those old cars but it "feels" like a movie.

Oh they are good looking and timeless but period correct????

period correct just means what guys who owned the car in that period put on the cars and...they did on those cars. In other words, if you have a 32 ford, period correct does not always mean shit from 1932. A 32 was a popular car to hotrod in the 50s, so the crap guys used on the during that period, is considered period correct.
