Pootermobile
I've had my Datsun 610 for a few years now but had it sitting in the yard getting a bit more rust and dirt :( now that I have time and money I'm gonna make it driveable again. I can't wait to be able to drive it again! Needs brakes, tires, and tuneup. Bigger plans are body work. 1 Quote Link to comment

No need for lowering blocks. The 610 has independent rear suspension (IRS) That's embarrassing. At 3Pm I have no excuse. Thanks guys :) I want to also fix the speedometer it doesn't mark anything. What could it be? I know basic mechanical work. The speedo cable is on the driver's side of the 4 speed transmission while the automatic is on the other side. Inspect the cable under the car for damage. If bent, crushed or if the outer covering is cut open in any way it's best to replace. Water can get in and freeze in the winter and the transmission will twist it apart. The end of the cable is knurled and can usually be twisted off or gently use pliers to loosen. You will have to loosen and move the dash gauge cluster to unscrew the interior end. Quote Link to comment
