B110 Correct offset

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I have  Datsun B110 2dr Sedan year 1973 with original body, supensions, and brakes

I want to buy new 13*6 or 13*5,5 with 175/60 tyres.

Please advise me which offset i need. The only thing i want is remove de old 12" ones and put it in new whells with any changes.

If is possible i want the same offset for all of them.

Many thanks on advance

Your stock rims should be 4" wide and a 6.00 x 12 tire (or 155R12) In a 13" tire size that is the same height so that speedo and performance is not affected AND in the 60 series range isn't do able. The narrowest in 13" at the same height are 165/70R13 at 6.5" wide. Anything else goes wider.

A175/60R13 is 3/4" shorter or less tall and almost 7" wide. (almost twice the stock tire size) Your speedometer will be affected and read higher that you are actually going.

We haven't even got to rims and the off set yet.

Hi!

Many thanks for your reply.

What do you recomend

14*6  175/60   which offset

15*6  175/60   which offset

Please inform me, if these whells cause insecurity on driving

Hi

Sorry for the insistance in this subject

I Have no ideia, which is the best offset for front and rear whells Datsun 1200 using 13*6 and 175/60 Tyres

Some people says +23mm
others +16, +15 others +5

I think is 0mm

Really i dont know how they calculate them?

I dont know if they use spacers or not.

I only want the best offset without spacers, fitting the car with security and looks good

I dont like see a car with wheels to inside the body or outside the body.

Many thanks

Hi

I take the forn measures chassis offset of my Datsun 1200  2 Dr sedan, and i have:

face measure 60mm

back measure: 109mm

with this measurements i can use 13*6 whells 175/60 tyres offset +23mm

6"=152.40

centerline 152.40/2= 76.20

76.20+23=99.20

76.20-23=53.20

face measure 60-53.20=6.80   clearance between fender and whell

back measure 109-76.20= 32.80 clearance between wheell  and coil

+18 mm offset

76.20-18=58.20

76.20+18=94.20

face measure 60-58.20=1.80mm

back measure 109-94.20=14.80

Please inform me if i am thinking wright? I can use +23mm offset?

Many thanks

I had to argue with Minilite when I ordered mine.  They wanted me to get a 13x5 with +25mm backspace. (I think it was close to that)  I told them to use my measurements, and they fit just fine.

I have never measured according to your chart, but a 13x6 with +23mm will not work.  My tires are pretty close to the front struts, and anything with more offset will need spacers. (And probably longer wheel studs)

Again, my car has disc brakes and is NOT lowered.

I will try to get some photos for you tomorrow if I have time.  I have a very busy afternoon.

Hi

So am i. They advise me 13*6 +23mm offset but in my opinion dont fit.

in my math: overall rim 7"=177.80mm

centerline=88.90

bacspace 111.90mm need spacers.

frontspace 65.90

offset +8 mm

backspace 97mm

frontspace 80.90mm

,offset+12mm

backspace 100.90 fits ok?

frontspace 76.90 maybe must pull the fenders

offset +16mm

backspace 105mm too much closer

frontspace 72.90

Im in trouble, tommorrow i will take measures

When it possible send me some pictures and if  you have any measures too. Im confused and. Im affraid to buy wrong wheels, im in Portugal and i will buy them in England.

I dont know if the suspension of your car is the equal as mine. but i think is similiar.

Many thanks on advance

Here is a general front view.  The tires are 175/60/13.  The tire sits in the wheel well nicely. The outer edge of the tire is just inside the wheel well.

Here is the tire inside next to the strut.  It's hard to take a good photo from this angle, but you can see the strut is pretty close to the tire.  There isn't much room for more positive offset. At the top of the tire, I would guess the clearance is about .250" (I can not put a finger between the strut and the top of the tire)  The clearance here is fine, but it is close.

This is looking down on the front tire from the top.

Same photo of the rear tire.
