Jester
I'm looking for an interior light cover if you have one I am going to assume that you have a standard cab. Very few King Cabs were titled as "76's. 1 Quote Link to comment

windowless66
Finally getting around to changing the engine, getting undrivable with no compression. Had to downshift uphills and almost impossible to start cold with the sidedrafts. Prepping the patient Halfway there. Unimpressed 4 Quote Link to comment

windowless66
Rookie mistake! Finally had everything hooked up turned the key and bent a rod and valve :/ Mustn't have had the pushrod seated right. Next time I'll be more pedantic and set all my valve clearances before firing up. I've gotten away with it too many times before and it's finally caught up with me. Funny had a bit of a week of it Mower cord broke, left the brake on on my trailer and cooked the brakes and now this :) Too scared to take the head off...Don't want to see if there's a hole in the piston :P Quote Link to comment
SPIDERSHACKOV
The valves clearance should have been checked when the motor was going together. Correct. That Ius one Iif the things I double check before buttoning everything up. 1 Quote Link to comment
windowless66
Bought a 78 model with ball joints for a body swap, because its Australia we were lucky enough to have balljoints and drum brakes. Been asking around and the 720 disk spindles and calipers are supposed to be a bolt on upgrade. Another guy has done the swap on his Kingcab over here. Early days but the cab looks in better condition than mine could end up being a tub swap yet :P 1 Quote Link to comment
windowless66
Shes back on the road again! Swapped all the J15 valves into the J16 lapped them in. Did all the valve clearances TWICE using the rule of nine. Then took it for a lap of town just as the sun went down. Today was a good Day! 1 Quote Link to comment
windowless66
76' has been running well and still doing the daily duties. Getting bits ready for the engine swap in the 78. 720 stubs, callipers and disks, a 63A gearbox, sss carb setup and L20b engine. 1 Quote Link to comment
windowless66
Yesterday was my last Day with the '76. New chapter for the 620 with a new owner. Funny feeling not sadness, but kinda like when your cat dies. Feels strange that its not around anymore but alot of positives to the situation too. Quote Link to comment
