Well hello everybody my name is Jeremiah. Today I picked up my first Datsun. 1980 210 project. Very little rust worst is from a battery leaking onto the battery shelf. The whole wiring harness on the car is trashed. Somebody was apparently trying to make a dirt track car with it. I snagged it up for 350 cash. It has a weber carb on it and I need to fix the wiring before I can attempt to put a battery in it. Looking forward to gobs of info and hopefully meeting some of you. Thanks for an awesome site, Jeremiah.

The door plate says 04/80.

.

Yes I got the wrong year written down. Should have been Dec. '79. This is about the middle of the '80 model year when the hood, fenders, grill and lights were changed to rectangle. The '80 model year starts June '79 of the previous year so it's possible to have round headlights on an '80.

My car is weird that way too. its a 75 but it has a cat and points.

Sept '74 on should have cat and non points dizzy.

For the B310 (210 in north America) the 1980 model year came out November 1979. In Japan the model change occurred October 1979.

Square headlights came out then.

1974 B210 came with points. EI did not come until 1975 CAL models and 1978 FED models. For the B210 the 1975 model came out in late 1974. So many B210 with 1974 build dates were 1975 models, just like Ford and Chevy did.

Serves me right. Nov on was the change.... I assumed it was a half year change.

Gotta love the 2-door sedan! Lighter, tighter and the smoothest riding of all the little Datsuns. 47 MPG with the 5-speed package.

I had a 2dr 76 B and on a trip across the prairies got well up into the 50s but this was also a 4 speed and Imperial gallons. 53MPG CDN = 44MPG US. It was only the one tank full the rest were often in the high 40s. That car only twice dipped below 30MPG. the whole time I had it.

Ok making some progress. I have a major piece of my interior back in one piece. This was in the trunk and was in 6 different pieces. Right now it is superglued back together and I plan to beef it up with some acrylic nail filler. I used this method on my AMC Eagle interior pieces and its still holding strong.

I am also going through and trying to figure out what everything is and so far I am doing good accept I cannot find what this part is...IMG_20131206_154736_382.jpg

If someone could help me identify this that would be awesome.

Thanks, Jeremiah.
