You guys are the best! I haven't done this since I was 15 and no where near the detail. I did get a barracuda and tried to make a Hurst Hemi Under Glass. Carved out the back underside with Z-acto knife to get the hemi under the back window. Never finished it and eventually gave it away to a neighbor's kid to finish.

Would have looked like...

wonder if anyone would be interested in my AMT 1955 Nomad kit?    "Stock, Custom or Drag" by the box?  My son stole the "optional" engine parts for another kit car he was building, otherwise an original unassembled and unpainted clasic.  Parts included to "convert" to "El Cominomad" pickup.

Those were a really hot ticket in '68. A classmate in high school tried to order one but the waiting list was 4 months long.

I had a HS buddy with a 68 Sport Satellite, 383 4spd bench seat, that thing would fly.

Nice work guys!

I've got a couple of Datsun models finished (that number doubles if you want to count Nissans), and I just picked up the 510 BRE reissue, so you might see that one soon too.

You'll see all of them as soon as I figure out this photo posting problem I'm having. Happened to me on another Invision board, but everything that worked on that one didn't work for this one. Might just have to bite the bullet and go with Google Chrome. B)

Looks like I'll be using Chrome when I visit Ratsun!

Everything works just fine now.

Anywho...

This is my most recent one- the Revell reissue of the old Monogram Datsun 720 that came out earlier this year.

I call this one a "1932 Datsun", but it started off as a BMW Dixi, which of course was a copy of the Austin 7. I built this one with the old urban legend of the first Datsuns being copies of the Austin in mind, and went the rat rod route with it. It has an S20 engine from a Fujimi kit- it's basically made out of spares box junk and a couple of scratch-built pieces.

Here's my Skyline 2000 GT-E-S Turbo- Tamiya kit. This one was motorized, but I left all that out. I also used some Minilites and Pirelli tires from my spares stash.

This winter I might redo the side trim and fix that crooked license plate if I don't get sidetracked.

And my Pathfinder, American Satco rebox of the Aoshima kit. I lifted it (SAS up front), and used the Mickey Thompson tires off a Revell Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. Then I threw a little mud on it.

Next on the agenda.... the Revell 510 (I'm really toying with the idea of doing it up like the Ratsun header car), and another 720- not sure if that one will end up lifted or lowered though.

I've been trying to buy a 510 model kit for a long time now and can't find anything :/

Revell just reissued the BRE version earlier this year- you should be able to find it at any well-stocked hobby shop (or online) for somewhere around 25 bucks.
