I've been shooting cars for about 15 years now, had around 60 features published, wrote about half of them. I remember I was testing out ISO. All I know for me is, never go higher than 800. I like to stay at 400 and lower. Oh yeah, I did some other things I usually wouldn't on the BMW photos. I find it best to set it on shutter priority and set the shutter to 1/60 or 1/80, then let the camera pick an F-stop (I always try to work at 100 or 200 iso). Nice blur but still sharp if you keep a steady hand. Side tip, lay off the caffeine before shooting. :thumbup: Not Datsuns, but shot at 1/60... Panning... Car-to-car... 2 Quote Link to comment

Started off with a point and shoot, and eventually a DSLR. 2008 or so, HDR with a hacked firmware Canon sd1000 (point and shoot) 2009 after I modified my suspension, hacked firmware sd1000 again. 2010 Finally got my hands on a DSLR. Nikon D5000 with kit lens on this. I retouched the lens flare on it just a few months ago. 2011, tried some light painting for the first time. All lighting is done by my cell phone LED light. Nikon D5000/kit lens 2012, made some camera booms for a video shoot, decided to test them out on my car. Nikon D5000/kit lens 2012, borrowed my friends DSLR, Canon 50d with 50mm prime 2013 BlueLake show, thought this was a cool shot of my car and friends' turbo 510's. Nikon D5000/kit lens 2013, just last month. Was driving around with my daughter, enjoying the sunset and pulled over to snap a pic. Nikon D5000/kit lens, (someday I'll play with the 300mm lens I have for it too lol) Never tried a shoot in a car park before, so I gave it a go. Nikon D5000/kit lens One of the few rear end shots that I liked. Nikon D5000/kit lens. Had some beers and tried some crazy editing on this one lol. Nikon D5000/kit lens. So yeah, I haven't had any other cars to shoot at as you can tell. Friends always have excuses on why their cars shouldn't be in pictures lol. -Robert Quote Link to comment
