Based on the side that is oiled down I'm guessing either a fitting or the oil feed line for the turbo. Everything was hot and I was frustrated when I pushed it in to the garage so I haven't actually checked for the source yet. Hoping it's something simple and stupid, but until I get my daily back together it is pretty low priority.

So, with the daily back on the road, and the issue with the race car diagnosed and parts on the way I set my sights on the truck. Didn't take but a second to figure out what broke.

The bspt to npt fitting sheared off pretty flush with the oil pressure outlet. As long as the remainder comes out without much hassle it will be a pretty simple fix. For the short term I'll just be replacing the broken fitting. Longer term I'll remote mount the pressure sender to relieve some stress on the fitting. At the end of the day it will very likely take longer to get the mess all cleaned up than to fix it.

I was actually looking at grease gun hoses. Certainly a lot cheaper than their braided AN equivalents.

Not a whole lot to report yet. Broken fitting is out, new fitting is in, alternator has taken an electrical connector cleaner bath and now I'm just waiting on a new oil filter housing gasket to arrive so I can put it all back together.

I did a thing to the truck again.  A few weeks back my fuel rail started eating the #4 o ring. After several attempts to replace it being met with the same leak I opted to ditch it for a nicer one. I went with the unit made by the same people that make my intake. This did inturn lead to new injectors as well since this rail was designed to work with a different style. Bumped up to 60#(630cc) while I was at it, less for the added power pontential and more to lower the duty cycle.  I will need to fiddle with or delete the booster vacuum hose as in its current position the hose is sitting on the rail.

I've gotten the base settings updated for the new injectors, but it will require some retuning to be 100% again.

Well, in my excitement to not have a fuel leak last night I didn't notice the vacuum leaks where the injectors meet the intake. A few hours and several attempts to modify the standoffs I finally got it sealed and retuning underway. Nothing really exciting to report though.

Master swapped, and now I'm fairly confident that my old master was half fucked to start with. Previously the brakes were ok at best and I believe that the rears were doing most of the work. A day before I blew the injector oring I got the pleasure of experiencing putting the pedal to the floor and basically nothing from the brakes. Pumping them a couple of times got it back to normal. Got home, adjusted the drums and bled the brakes took it for a test drive with no real improvement and then on the way back fuel fun.

In case you are just tuning in I'm running a 280z 7/8 master with D21 calipers up front and stock drums out back.

Gonna take the truck out tomorrow to keep working on adjusting the tune.

tl:dr

Cardone remans suck. Master that works = nose diving braking.

If the backs lock first then yes you have a problem. Try this on a dirt road. But beware. When the backs lock the rear end will want to 'come around' on you. Specially bad on a curve. They should more or less lock together. The fronts should do most of the stopping and because the front end weighs more, increasing tire traction, it resisting lock up. In addition added weight will also transfer to the front and off the rear tires.

There should be a warning brake light that comes on when there is lack of hydraulic pressure in one of the two systems.

I have an adjustable prop valve for the drums and now all of the brakes seem to be working properly, with maybe a bit of bias to the front. I haven't done a full on panic stop test yet, but will adjust the valve as needed when I do.

As for the light, there are no original sensors, wires, gauges (aside from the unhooked tach) or much else really in this truck.

Finally got my block back and the shop saved me the trouble of having to paint it.

Also got the engine bay pretty much ready to go.

The chemical stripper I used turned everything a coppery color, I kinda like it, so I think it will stay.

The place I ordered my timing set from seems to be having some trouble getting me all of the right parts, hopefully the third time is the charm.  Once I have that I will be able to actually assemble this thing.

I love this thread..Props to you and the truck, very nice! Do you remember what stripper you used on the engine bay to get it looking like that? Im really feeling that!
