Redoing wiring every 5 years sounds terrible. Just so you know the KA engine harness has about a million splices from the factory. ~20 yo harness still working just fine.

If that's the case I would just be checking with a meter every 5 years. no point in changing whats doing its job correctly.

I like your work, keep it up!

how much would it cost to have you duplicate your custom fabrications, or would you be open to the idea at all?

I really appreciate it.  While doing exactly that is the dream job, I am a self taught amateur who is acutely aware of my abilities/limitations. Given the quality of my work and the amount of time it takes me to build a lot of these things I don't feel comfortable charging enough to really make it worthwhile.  Not to mention that since most of what I've done isn't one size fits all I would actually need the vehicle in my garage to do the work and I suspect getting your truck from Portland to Indianapolis would be inconvenient at best.

In other news, coolant leak is fixed and idle and free rev are dialed in.  Now I just need to terminate some grounds for dash lights and actually hook up the front turn signals so I can get this thing on the road.

True, it wouldn't be the easiest to confirm sizes etc from such a distance. That's why anything I would request would be for the KA24DE so if it would work on yours it will work on mine. just like how you did the exhaust manifold and your EFI housing like on your build.

Nice good to hear its close to road ready! cant wait to see test drive clips!

Figured out the turn signal issue. Another case of this universal harness not matching up with how the Datsun switches work.

Got the opportunity to take the truck out for it's maiden shake down run around the neighborhood and to the gas station. No pics or video yet just a huge grin. Did a part throttle pull to ~3000 and managed to accidentally hit 7.5psi at 2800rpm at 38% throttle. Luckily I had adjusted the spark and fuel tables to be very safe above 100kpa prior to heading out. Early indications are that this thing is going to be stupid fast. Still have lots of tuning to do, but excited to have it rolling again.

security/style idea... no handles just smooth door. BUT your side mirror is made to slide back about an inch and pull the door cable. stealth mirror handles!

Feels good indeed. I've missed driving the truck.

Took the truck out again this evening for some more tuning. Sub 100kpa is pretty solid, and will continue to get ironed out. Started working on low boost as well but have a lot more work to do before going wot.

I did actually take the GoPro with me, turned it on and hit the record button... Seems I didn't hold the button long enough because when I got home I noticed it hadn't been recording. That's what I get for not using the app. Always next time.

Started working on WOT pulls this passed weekend and yeah this thing is going to be kinda stupid. As it stands I'm still running off gate pressure which was more than enough to embarrass a new edge mustang that thought he was hot shit.  Traction is something of an issue, first gear is useless for anything above civilized driving and depending on the road surface the top of second gets a little interesting.

I did manage to stretch the shit out of the hood release cable so for the next three weeks, or however long the boat takes to get here, I get to pop my hood with a screw driver.

Thanks Charlie, it sure does and more boost to come soon. I am having a bitch of a time finding a 25" tire for a 15" rim that will get me better traction that isn't a drag radial or full slick, which I don't want for this truck.

Wot videos to come. Still trying to decide if I'm going to take it out for test and tune night at the local track this week.

Already running 215/60s. I don't mind going wider out back, but would prefer to stick with all seasons so I don't have to have yet another set of wheels to swap around once it gets cold. Its no problem finding 26" or 24" tires that would fit the bill I just happen to think personally that the 25s fit the wheel well just right. Worst case I'll pick up two more wheels and get something stickier in a slightly taller tire for the rear or spend as much getting some of those old school BFG radial TAs that all the muscle cars run around on.  At the end of the day this is a cruiser/parts hauler and not a race truck.

I did end up going to the track last night.  Only got three runs in, it gets busy here in Indy, so I didn't get to do as much testing as I would have liked but better than nothing I suppose. I did enable boost control and set a blanket setting for the duty cycle and got all of the boost until I hit the over boost full cut that is. Over boost is currently set to 19.5 psi. so I still have some tweaking to do on boost control settings and still need to tune the higher boost sections of the fuel tables.

So for those of you who have been waiting for WOT pulls.

Interestingly enough I found my sorta twin and took the worlds worst picture with it.
