q-tip
Those little engines make ridiculous power, over 300hp N/A and over 1000 with a turbo. Quote Link to comment
JoeCool
That car is awesome! I love the idea they put a that Packard V12 into a car. What it originally came in: A P51 Mustang 1 Quote Link to comment
paradime
Back in the day the unlimited H1 hydroplane races (aka Thunder boats) were running the V 12, 16, and 24 cylinder World War II aircraft engines. I grew up in San Diego in a neighborhood called Mission Hills that overlooked the San Diego Bay. I remember hearing the sound of those pissed off motors echoing through the canyon where our house was. Sounded like Godzilla's entire family was attacking. It was impossible to find parking, so we dried our beach cruisers down the Fiesta Island and watch from the backside corner of the course. Unreal sound when those things came around the corner and hit the juice. The beach sand would literally shake and you could feel the pressure concussion in your sinuses. Miss Budweiser was the first to switch to a turbine engine, and two seasons later everyone else did the same. Still cool to see, but it's nothing like the good old days. q-tip
Don't known if he still races but there used to be a guy that ran seafair up here in Seattle with a v12 unlimited hydro, and they do sound angry. Quote Link to comment
estrada42
I saw these 510's at the Bayline event this weekend, and found, what I feel, is the two coolest swaps I've seen. I'm sure both of these cars are on here as well. 1.) A 510 with a massive turbo and 20b Three rotor. 2.) A 510 with a custom supercharger setup that I couldn't stop staring at. It made me miss my 82 GSL, and I've started looking for another one. While these are not as chromed out, or rare as some of the engines in this thread as a rotary fan and a Datsun fan these are very much engine porn for me. If the owners are on here, thank you for keeping the magic triangles spinning. 2 Quote Link to comment

paradime
This is like breast implants, nice to look at, but ultimately fake, useless, and expensive. Too bad the guy couldn't find a chrome fan belt, then it'd hecka fresh. Quote Link to comment
