With carbs, I found what usually is happening is it's pulling the idle circuit dry. So what you are hearing is lean, then gas, then lean, then gas. With an injected engine (such as that) it's a similar deal, just done in a different way, rich lean, rich lean. My converter is a 6500 stall, so it really would not effect my staging or anything, I just don't like it because it's out of tune at idle, so I fix it. My own Father's hotrod does this and he thinks it's 'cool' and of course...I don't know anything, so he won't let me fix it. I hate even riding in it, it has a tight converter and just lunges at a light or going through a parking lot. Nothing says cool like your head whipping back and forth as you try to find a spot to park.

Also....I have heard guys blame it on the type of rotor causing oscillation. Which really seems to be a very solid theory...other than the fact that I can take that same blower and make it stop by making the mixture correct, so, no.
