This is our prototype 'HARTLEY V12', the first in a new product line for us. This first engine is being used by Jaron Olivecrona in his immaculately presented S14 Drift car, we have a great relationship with Jaron and his team, and so far, Drifting has been a great test for performance and reliability.
We make no secret of the fact that this engine is based on a Toyota 1GZ, but we don’t consider it a 1GZ anymore, we used only 4 OEM parts, the Block casting, the Head castings, the Crank (for now) and the timing chains. We either made, re-purposed, or commissioned everything else used to turn this into a bespoke, high revving V12 screamer. (by everything, we mean Everything, none of this was ordered from a catalogue)... We consider it worthy of the title HARTLEY V12!

In that long cold winter when nothing but snow and cold,.....build an I16

http://www.sweet16.se/

In my workshop I have build the worlds first and only straight 16 cylinder engine for automobile. Take a look in the photo gallery, called BILDGALLERI.  As base I use four engine blocks from 40-year old Volvo B20.

After the war to end all wars number 2, you could buy the Allison engines from war surplus for penny's on the dollar. I had the chance to buy 3 for $150 total. A big number of them also ended up in West Texas pumping water. I never saw any of the Rolls Royce engines for sale in the states but I know they were hear as some ended up in race cars and boats after the war.

Today, just a distributor cam will cost $200 !

A couple of years ago, someone listed 3 of the Allisons on eBay. Didn't bother watching what they went for.

A lot of them still around, being stuffed into all sorts of cars.

This one in a '37 chevy.
