Ford flathead V-8 with ARDUN cylinder head conversion.

ARDUN - Designed by Zora Arkus Duntov and his brother.

Zora Arkus Duntov joined Chevrolet division of GM and is considered the father of the Chevrolet Corvette and head of Chevy's performance division for decades. (remember Rochester fuel injected Chevys and Duntov 097 & 098 cams? My first car was a 55 four-door with a 1964 283 smallblock topped by a 58 Rochester unit and a 098 cam)

This ARDUN conversion originally sold for about $475 in the 1940's. Original conversion kits sell for $25K - $30K.

Still available new manufacture for about $14K.  http://www.ardun.com/

These vintage beasts made a lot of noise at Bonneville Salt Flats over the past 60-70 years.

Not the best pic. Taken with the Polaroid 'Land Camera' that I got for a high school grauation present. Heres a pic of my future wifey sitting on the air plenum of the Rochester FI unit taken in Spring 1966 at a family picnic with same camera. We'd just driven to the picnic and I have a picture somewhere of the speedometer pegged out on a straightaway on the way to the picnic. Crazy Ass Kids !!

She was 15 and I was just short of 18.

Right at 52 years and she's lasted longer than any of my cars or guns !!
