I started daily driving the diesel, has great AC and gets great MPG. I'll be swapping the engine out eventually for a 2.5 liter 4D56, i'll also be putting it on a 4x4 chassis im building right now with a lot of other odds and ends, but i'll update with photos of that and save everyone the boring tech stuff.

Raised it up 2" (was lowered 4.5") and threw some kumho eco tires on it for all the MPG's!

I sold the wheels a few months ago. I've been trying to decide what axle, brake, and wheel set up im going to use, so until I sort that out I've got some 14" turbines. After the wheels went on I blacked out some trim and put the Galant badges on the fenders, then I took it out for a cruise with some locals and one of them took the last photo.

I didnt put two and two together that you were you until tonight when Nick pointed it out. Love the builds man.

Yeah there's not many places for an oddball like mine to call home. :)

Forgot the door. 510 goons and 4dr sedans are the same way. Amazing how the Mitsubishi silhouette looks like a 610/710. Sweet little car!

What did the stock bumpers look like?? Park benches?

The stock bumpers on the 73 were the slim bumpers like the slim datsun ones. After 73 they turned into the protectionism park benches that america made all the imports use. I've got some work planned, hopefully it keeps the rear doors functional.

Looked like this! There were small bumpers up to 74, 75 we had the solid chrome park benches (i.e. the red wagon), then 76+ came the chrome with rubber corner park benches. The big bumpers mount differently than the small bumpers.

Just thought I would pop in and introduce myself.  I saw some Mitsu fans here and wanted to say hi.  I'm actually looking for a car  but it will likely be a beast to find one, so I expect to be looking around a few places and try to create a bit of a net to find what I am looking for.  For anyone who is curious my first car was a 1979 Fire Arrow (a Plymouth in the US and a Dodge here in Canada).  I've been looking at the photos and the information and realize I am a real rookie and likely will have to learn a lot to get this done but ... first loves right?

Thanks for the kind words. The wagon is on the back burner while I handle a lot of other work, over the years I've learned what keeps me motivated on a project car; it just has to stay running most of the time. As long as I can drive it occasionally, I keep my connection with it. I've been daily driving the wagon, it's fully operational, there's just a lot of changes I want to make. It's still running on the rushed swap I did on it years ago and I'd like to clean a lot of that up. I did manage to finish up some more of the all black interior. I need to paint some areas as well but the concept that I did any work at all on the car recently is satisfactory enough for me.
