1959 VPL220 and 210 to make a four door U222

OK, 

I just picked up a 1959 210 (Fresno C/L)  body and frame for parts for my VPL220.   I now have the parts needed to put together (and VIN plate) to put a four door 220 together.  I will have enough parts to cobble this together.  http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/2009/12/07/kidney-anyone-1960-datsun-1200-van-vpl221/

 

I have done nothing to the VPL220 yet, that is going to be my stock restoration project.  The four door truck will be my son's (he is 3 now, so I have a little time).  

 

Any suggestions?  I will have some limited extra parts in the build, no extra windshields.   I'm thinking the bed will be about 3/4 length of the stock 220 truck bed. 

 

I'm thinking no chrome, all white trim with green body... kind of like this... http://www.earlydatsun.com/datsun220.html

I'm no good with Paint.

Well, looks like you have 12 or 13 years to complete this task.  You just might be able to find or fabricate all the piece parts you need by then.  I sincerely wish you the best of luck!  Hope you don't heve to go the plexiglass windshield route.

There is a guy in Vancouver, WA that has two sedans- 210/211's and NEW rebuilt engine for sale , he MAY be willing to sell spare parts.
