Oh, everyone of the old ones I have driven were a crappy driving rattle traps and really bare bones. BUT, I'm not really planning a cross country trip or it even being a daily driver, so I can put up with it's bullshit for the most part.

Our truck had a rust hole upper right on the floor pan that was great for dropping stuff out. See an empty cup or other bit of trash, well that hole seemed to be a great place to put it ha ha ha

I've personally never had much brand loyalty. My family were pretty much all Fords for the most part. I have had so many trucks over the years of all types. The only ones (ones) out of all of them that I had issues with was a new Ford truck. I was one of the dopes that got that 6.4 powerstroke trucks. It was so bad, they actually gave me a new truck in its place, any idea just HOW bad something needs to be for them to replace it with a new truck? Yeah, that bad. The replacement never saw a full 1000 miles without a huge issue. They took that one back, thus ended up with the truck I drive today. I think all brands comes out with a lemon now and again. Really, I have ran the snot out of all the big three and never had an issue with any other than the 6.4 ordeal. I'm probably just lucky like that I guess.

I thinks its just the way new cars are built.my dads truck is falling apart now too and he doesn't even drive it every day.only thing good about it is the duramax but now the injector o rings need to be replaced it spudders if you let it idle for a while.

Well, I got lucky with the Dodge, because I have a shot over 300k on it and have not done a thing but change the oil (and not very often at that).
