I enjoy playing, working, and eating in the dirt but when the day is done I want a warm shower, a real bed that can't go flat and walls with a roof that aren't effected if a wind or rain storm comes along. After our 51 Dodge cab over camper took a shit, the Merc became our family's motor home. M, D, 3 bros, a black lab named Jason, Sears cargo roof rack, and an ass load of trunk space filled to the gills. We had an old canvas military tent soaked in paraffin, a massive cooler, kerosene lantern and stove. That rig was a fucking low rider magic carpet. Countless camping trips, Iowa via a different route every year, to the top of Pikes Peak, the bottom of Death Valley, up to Banff, down to Cabo, Yosemite, Yellow Stone, Grand Canyon, the Grand Tetons, and every imaginable funky road side attraction. The first time I had a junior one night stand (made out hard with a girl) was at a KOA in Arizona. Needless to say, I have a soft spot for tent camping, and still do it with my kids. As my Dad would say "If you're comfy, it ante an adventure. If the idea of "roughing it" is city folk naiveté, than I can tell you first hand, ignorance is bliss. 2 Quote Link to comment
