Yeah, the original was a very good off road vehicle for a reasonable price the new one is an incredible off road vehicle for a lot more money than I can afford!

In 1977, a new base Bronco was $5,260.00, that's roughly $22,376 today.  A new Bronco base is $29,995

So technically, not that much of a difference

Yes but with the good off road package and the good stuff it is a lot more. I wouldn't want one that wasn't equipped for serious off roading. Starting price for the Wild Track that comes with the 35 inch tires is $48,875 before you add any options so you are talking over 50K and that is not the top of the line First Edition which starts at $59,305.

Now compare that to a loaded 77 with a lift, 33s, Detroit Locker rear, and a TruTrc front and the gap widens a lot.

I paid $1,900 for my 76 in 1984 and put another $2,000 or so in it including the above diffs, ported 351 heads, Holley 4 barrel, headers with dual 2.5 exhausts and a top loader 4 speed conversion. I wish I could have kept it but when our economy here went bad I had no choice.
