datsunfreak
too damned close to the fender crown, huh? not sure how they nailed everything else but messed up the centering of the badge. I'm guessing the back of the badge was flat and the fender has a curve that prevented mounting it in the correct (looking) area without shaving the back of the badge to a taper. Yes, exactly. I think I would have probably raised the top edge of the white section up to the top of the fender bulge. That would make the badge look more centered. 1 Quote Link to comment

VFR800
RAAF 1967 VW Double Door Panel with Aircon TrailerMobile Aircraft Monitoring Vehicle (MAMV) Tony Thompson RAAF states: Was designed and built at 1AD Laverton. I took it to MRL (Materials Research Laboratories) located at Maribyrnong to test the aircon and 10kva genset mounted on the trailer towed by the VW. I then accompanied it to Amberley where it was set up on the ORP to test it. It was at the same time the F4E Phantoms were being ferried back to the States. A KC135 tanker would lumber down the strip and when airborne it would be followed by 2 F4E's. Incredible viewing and soooo close 3 Quote Link to comment
