FirstDime
Sorry for stealing your thread OP. I sent Vintage Rubber a pic and they are going to send a new rubber. I'm going to pull it out of the bag and check to see if it has 4 actual corners. looking forward to seeing this resolved, hope to see gapless pics in the near future russaroll. I need a new windshield in my dime :crying: Quote Link to comment
shacks510
Any word from VR? If everything checks out good, I'll have to order one. Quote Link to comment

Trophy24
Wow. I had high hopes for them taking care of this. They should actually check their product before shipping out a replacement. Contact them again? Quote Link to comment
Draker
Also it should be known... The VR front gasket is precision gasket from Thailand. The package I got was clearly packaged in the precision bag.. with precision part numbers. Affixed over the made in Thailand sticker is a VR label. When I received the package I immediately called VR. His explanation was that he owns all the tooling and has proprietary rubber.. blah blah blah. Talked to my glass guy.. he wasn't buying it. You make the decision. Quote Link to comment
Draker
Mine fit just fine though. Hasn't spent any time in the sun and is holding up good so far. It's the trim version. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
my precision split in a year on my car. My VR hasn't been outside for a year, but its not split yet. Has been on the car for a long time. also I highly suggest liquid butyl rubber for installation, only way I could stop it from leaking. Quote Link to comment

You make the decision. English common law applies except in Lousiana! As usually rendered the "Law of Agency" is stated as "The master is responsible for those actions which his servant has performed on the behalf of his master" so get him off his ass and make him provide restitution either as a real product or as a full restitution of all your expenses! russaroll
Looks like the gasket is for the rear window. front four corners, rear two. you are correct sir. apparently there was a mix up and they sent rear seals. :hmm: plus side. if your in a pinch and only have a rear seal it'll work on the front. housew
so there was a mix up twice and they sent rear seals twice and are fixing it for real now (by sending you a front seal instead of a third rear?) Just trying to get it straight, i was hoping to order front and rear seals from them... Quote Link to comment
russaroll
^^^ i hope they send me a front one. there have been lots of good things said about DATSPORT rubber. if this doesn't go well i might have to go there. if i get a rubber from them i'll need to find new chrome trim. 1 Quote Link to comment
housew
thanks for the tip, more money, but it looks like datsport sells them with or without the trim so you wouldn't need to find any.http://www.datsport.com/rubbers-510-2door.html Quote Link to comment
Scgreen620
Let me know too I need a new one before the rain comes ... I already have leaks when I wash my truck... Quote Link to comment
