Vintage Rubber - Front windshield gaskets?

Hey Folks. I'm looking for members that have ACTUALLY bought a front windshield gasket from vintage rubber. Specifically the gasket that accepts the chrome trim. What can you tell me about these seals? From what I can tell Vintage Rubber has good reviews, but they sell lots of products. I am specifically asking about this gasket.

Please share your feedback if you have purchased this seal.

Hmm... Take this with a grain of salt, But if I recall correctly (which I would give a 85% chance after seeing that picture above), my windshield seal I installed 3 years ago was a precision. It was definitely Thailand. It seemed nice when it went in. But after only 2 years, it was cracked at the corners. I replaced early fall with a seal from VintageRubber.com so far so good with that one

VintageRubber.com uses their own molds, and makes the in the USA. So at the very least we know the seals from them are not the same Thailand garbage everyone else is selling.

I have not purchased anything from him yet, but I've talk to the guy quite a few times on the phone, and he seems like a good guy. I'm waiting for his "Cal look" rear seal to be available for mine. He seems to know his stuff, and like mentioned earlier, all of his stuff is made in the US. I also like the fact that his pricing is very fair, unlike others that think their stuff is gold plated, lol.

i just checked his site out (looking for front and rear "windsheild" seals that i can keep my chrome trim with) and it looks like he has the cal look front and rear, but only a front with a groove.

bummer, cause i need both if i want to do my headliner....

i just had a windshield installed with a gasket from Vintage Rubber.  as you can see in the pic it's round on the bottom.  this concerns me a little because i want a good seal so no water gets in and i also don't want water to pool inside the little gap i now have in the bottom corners of the window.

i decided not to get the chrome trim one because i didn't want the glass guy slicing my new gasket up with that sharp trim.

that is terrible fit ,, that would never fly around these parts (Northwest)   I would start off nicely contacting them and make them aware of the problem ..  Maybe they would send you another.,, or something

i really didn't want to smear goo all in there but, if it comes to it i'll consider using some of that permatex. thanks

That's no Bueno. Is the Windshield new? Either that gasket is way off spec, or the windshield is. I've never seen such a poor fit. I've got a new windshield from Richard at (forget what company), and a seal from Thailand, and everything fits Kosher. When you installed the glass, did you slap it with your hand to get it to seat properly? Sometimes you can also put a hand on either side if the glass and tug and pull it into position.

Only use the proper product for sealing the gasket. The Permatex windshield sealer might be alright, but I prefer 3M Auto Glass Windshield Adhesive. Part number: 08695

Holy Crap!!! send them a pic and ask them what they sent. But at the sametime you should have inspected the gasket to make sure it was the correct gasket and that gasket I am sure is not the correct gasket otherwise we'd of heard all sorts of bad press from day one and I haven't. That thing is going to flood your interior so rain or not you still need to wash her. Troy Ermish sells these with no channel for the stainless trim and they are PERFECT!!!!!

Vintage rubber has pretty good support. Just call them. If the fit is just crap.. you might need to buy from a different source. The gasket I installed on my 510 fits good.. although it's the trim version.
