When my son was cutting the perches off his zx struts yesterday,  these weird rock like things fell out.. They are kinda light weight like lava rock but kinda like real hard clay

Normal. Struts have a ring of that stuff around the top of the rod where it enters the top hat. It a rebound bumper or some such name. It acts like a cushion if the strut is fully compressed on a large enough bump.

Doing a timing belt/water pump job on an '07 Camry. 

Take cover and belt off. Water pump comes off. 

I place the used pump on my bench and go to clean the mounting surface. 

 

I turn to grab the new pump from my work bench. 

This is what I see...

Bwahahaha. Apparently, I am the first in my shop to notice this.

Saw what looked like a blue rubber band in my KA head...

Turned out to be blue RTV.. Do not let a chevy owner change your water pump.

My GF pulled something just like that outta my KA block..... hence the reason i tore it down

Turns out damn near every one of the newer generation's motors on the Toyota line has a water pump shaped like penises. 

I have seen 4 different penis pump styles now. 

 

What were those Japanese engineers thinking? Maybe it was a dare? 

Do you think they laugh and joke about it when they speak of those round-eyed Americans?
