VFR800 Posted September 1, 2017 Report Share Posted September 1, 2017 Sometimes I hear about how man is having such a detrimental impact on the environment that we are contributing to special extinctions at an "alarming rate" so here's an interesting one I thought - http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-09-01/new-report-shows-381-species-discovered-in-amazon-in-two-years/8863380 My natural history knowledge specific to extinction as a subject is only generic and not deep but this indicates that there's a lot of species still being discovered. Maybe "just maybe" the species going extinct are meant to do so and then the new ones (aka undiscovered by us puny humans) are replacing what goes extinct.... At the same time I don't believe in us as a species going out of our way to make other species extinct cause that's just being asshole-ish. Quote Link to comment
