Except the coffee. I would pay $0.15 not to drink it. It was the worst tasting brown water ever made, besides being too fucking hot to drink right away. I always compared gas station coffer to how much it was better than McDees. Something happened about 10 years ago, or my taste buts had a die off, because it isn't half bad now. Starbucks is the worst based on the terrible acid, burnt, putrid, brown, dish water taste.... and having to choke down premium price for it. Fuck you Starbucks! Drinking your swill is worse than my addiction to real coffee.

That's funny, my Dad also used to prefer the coffee out of the vending machine over McDonald's! And he too also said that it got better in the 80's. Now, I drink it, it is much better and cheaper than Starbucks.

We need a time machine.

McDonald's Menu - 1972

At the time, minimum wage was $1.60. Still want to go back?   ^_^

It's all relative. Anything from 1972 would sound cheap today. For example, in 1972 you could buy a brand new Datsun 1200 for $1600, or a new 510 for $2000. You can't buy a rusty shitbox 510 for $2000 now...

A 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house was something like $9k too

My new 340 Dart was $3,250 in '70. By '72 it was worth maybe $2,300? Premium gas to run 10.5 compression was under $0.08 a liter. A two/four of beer was around $5.50,  AIDs didn't exist yet and pussies were hairy. '72 was the last long, never ending summer.

When my father in law was driving truck Montana State patrol told him about a truck they pulled over; it had 6 middle eastern guys in it that would keep it driving 24-7. They had a hole cut in the floor to piss and shit out of so they wouldn't have to stop the truck. Bottom line some truckers are awful.

Train toilets used to dump right on the tracks. Maybe still do. I flushed one in Manitoba and you could see the zebra stripes of the snow and the ties zipping by. This was in late '75. You were advised not to use the John while in the station.
