Love this. I presume wood, but not much grain if so. Almost a compass rose.

Since it's only paint grade, MDF for stability, ripped and planed to uniform width. Everything else in the house is painted pine T&G board, 4" and 8". I made that 6"X10" white oak box beam there too. Finishing this ceiling and then the beam will wrap a glue lam next to it.

Whats the floor? Looks like white oak.

I just bought and installed a 6 x 12 box beam cover made from foam and factory stained that looks surprisingly (very) good to cover the beat up exposed ridge beam in our master bedroom. It was light enough that Mrs. Rizzo could help me install.

Very nice. What are the drivers?

SB Acoustics neodymium ring radiator tweeters and the mids/lows are 5" SB13PFC25's. It's a WMTMWWW setup, typically called a 2.5 channel. The mid's and woofers are on the same crossover network, with an extra 7mH inductor further dampening midrange frequencies from the woofers. It's a transmission line, so there is a vertical baffle at the midline of the cabinet, with an opening at the bottom. They're each stuffed with 2lbs of batting.

Cabinets are Purple Heart and hard Maple. The doors are quilted soft maple. No veneer.
