Was looking at a picture of a retirement home in Houston that was flooded....say about 2.5 to 3 ft deep. How is it the electricity is on? Wouldn't the whole neighborhood be without power at this point? The retirement home outlets I am sure are in the 14" above the floor area, wouldn't the power have succumb to the water at the outlet level? If not and the power was still on, wouldn't everyone in the photo be electrocuted?

The second the water entered one outlet, it would trip the breaker for the circuit. Receps (outlets) for one room are typically on one breaker. Ceiling lights are typically one another breaker. So it is possible that the receps all tripped, and the overhead circuits were fine. But I'd turn off the building for sure if I were anywhere near that deep. Seems like a really bad idea. But could be real.

Some tool who always wanted a '55 gets his wish and then want's to crush the competition. If you knew anything about these cars you wouldn't have tried that. No seat seat belt is inexcusable. Why would you wear a helmet to save a 10 cent head???

Seat belts were mandatory on new cars around '69? ish. I wouldn't ride as a passenger in that thing. I owned a '55 back in the day. There were no seat belts, there was a single brake reservoir, nothing was designed to help you survive a crash but the laminated windshield..
