flatcat19
I buy Motorola phones unlocked then use Pre-Paid service(Cricket/AT&T.) Really loving my Moto X Pure. Service isn't horrible either. 8g of data, unlimited everything else. $45. Samsung products are no longer allowed in our house. Every Samsung phone my wife touches is junk. Last one I had was an S4. Junk within hours. The next 3 replacements all did the same thing. Back to Motorola. 3 Quote Link to comment

Draker
My S5 is still going ok in general but I have stripped out as much bloatware as possible and run basic apps I want not add any extra shit to weigh it down and I have a sim only plan with unlimited calls and txt in AUS and then 12 GB per mth data for $36.36 AUD per mth so will be looking to buy an outright phone when the S5 is not working right or dies. We have cell phone/ISP monopolies over here. They make sure to bend you over and do you dry every chance they get. 1 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Motorola all the way, only phones besides a Casio brigade that I haven't had problems with. 1 Quote Link to comment
Draker
All phones are shit eventually.. especially now that manufactures are moving to non-replaceable batteries. Pretty much forcing you to get a new phone in 1.5-2 years. 2 Quote Link to comment
EastBay521
Its time for a new phone for me. I currently have a Samsung sgh-t399 that ive had for the better part of 4 years now. my screen finally cracked and its been actin funny for the past while now. Im really unsure on what to go with. Pretty much all of my family has an iPhone and tell me to go that route, and the guys here at work tell me to go samsung but to watch out for viruses so wtf. I just need some thing that the screen isnt going to break the first few times I drop it because its going to happen. Im surprised this one lasted so long, took a beating for sure. 1 Quote Link to comment
VFR800
We have cell phone/ISP monopolies over here. They make sure to bend you over and do you dry every chance they get. Here it used to be like that back around 2001 but then the two major telco's got more competition and now the post paid and pre-paid markets are much more competitive (as far as can be for a 24 million person nation market). Re: Samsung, the S5 is the only one I've had of a Samsung and it's been good but am considering a Sony Xperia XZ as next phone or "maybe" the S8 if it's seen to be a good performer, whilst I would say sometimes in the past I've been an early adopter the Samsung Note 7 debacle made me quite wary of that. My other reason for sticking with S5 is replaceable battery,I bought a new genuine replacement not cause the original had shit itself but cause after 2 + years it's charging capability can drop so wanted to make sure I had a solid battery, the original still works fine but is now in cupboard as a back battery. And drop my phone a lot in harsh environments. Yadidimean?! 2 Quote Link to comment

SAME here, replaced a screen protector recently and @ $25 versus the cost of a new screen - well worth it. Quote Link to comment

I've replaced several. I replace one in about 10 minutes when not rushing. Easy. And I don't need that extra layer of glass on top that scratches so much easier than a factory glass screen. 1 Quote Link to comment
The Taterhead
Lifeproof case. Worth every cent. I have the same plan as Flat, but with an old iPhone. And this is happening https://www.nokia.com/en_int/phones/nokia-3310 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Nokia needs to hop on an OS bandwagon to compete. What happened to Blackberry? Best phones ever-died when it came time to choose between staying true or going Android. Quote Link to comment
Rjawm
I have a Samsung S5 Mini International phone that I purchased outright, so no extra AT&T crap on my phone, just some of the unremovable Google apps. I stuffed them in a file to hide them and shut them down for updates and all works well. Only thing that slows my processor down lately is fucking Facebook. I love the phone, 2 years old and the battery life is still great. I will now be buying a back up battery having said that out loud lol. And like has been previously mentioned by others, it's all done for a grandfathered kick ass unlimited plan. Yes, I know if I fully unlocked my phone I could get rid of the Google apps too, but my luck rolls that I'd end up with a brick for trying. 1 Quote Link to comment

hobospyder
if you ain't worried about your screen too much, tech 21 cases. i've had mine go down a flight of stairs that was about 2 stories (probably 1.5) and survive. surprised it didn't become a fireball on the way down since that was the last phone. current phone, same brand, and has seen about as much floor and stairs as any phone i've had yet and all i got is a couple scratches on the glass, no dings in the actual case of the phone itself 1 Quote Link to comment
tr8er
Element makes the best I've found. Not cheap, but I spend the money for every new phone. I didn't care for life-proof. The thing was supposed to be waterproof, and was. At first. Until it wasn't. Aside from waterproof, I wasn't all that interested. Price is right though. Quote Link to comment
