KoHeartsGPA
So you were only injecting water meth on the #2 cylinder then? Nah, head gasket failure on #2 had coolant coming in small amounts..... Quote Link to comment

q-tip
Water/ethylene glycol injection. Whatever it is the facts are it cleans the fuck out of a cylinder, piston and valves. 2 Quote Link to comment

KoHeartsGPA
Great now, had it rebuilt by a local guy that worked for Rebello for some 30 years, runs like a champ now  1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
If you are not comfortable with the following or feel you can't do it safely then don't. I've done this many times on carbureted engines to clean out carbon. You can do the same. Tune up in a bottle. Get a full plastic water bottle. Get engine hot as you can. Take for a drive. Or block off the rad with cardboard. Take air filter top off. Rev it up well, and begin pouring a steady stream of water into the open carb. I did NOT say pour a cup full in. Dribble it in from a bottle. What will happen is the engine will try to slow and begin to stall, so reduce the amount of water dribbling in or rev higher. At some point you may find you are full throttle and you can control the revs by how much water you dribble in. Expect to have clouds of steam coming out the tail pipe. Don't do this on a nice clean paved driveway. Check the engine temp gauge and you'll also find that it has dropped well below normal very quickly as water absorbs heat as it is turned into steam. Let engine idle and warm up again and repeat as necessary. What happens is the very hot carbon and hardened combustion deposits on piston tops and valves are suddenly cooled and shrink. They crack and flake off and go out the exhaust valve. You may find a spray of carbon and crap on the ground under the tail pipe. You are basically cleaning your engine with steam at well above 212F. Just like a blown head gasket. The guy who showed me unbolted his headers and it was impressive the spray of crap that came out. I toyed with the idea of putting my windshield washer hose into the carb throat and going for a drive. Take it to 4-5K in third and hit the spray button. Never tried it but should.. 2 Quote Link to comment
