The whole 'real Manx' thing is something that makes the owners of original Meyers Manx buggies a bit 'fussy'. I think most people see a fiberglass buggy and call it a Manx. Because Bruce Meyer was the originator of that style of car. Many other companies jumped on the wagon and made them just different enough to not infringe. This was the source of some real bitterness (still is I guess). Bruce made the "tow'd" as an off-road car and was originally meant to be "towed" to where you were going to drive it. I'm not sure how many he made but it was not many, like under 1000 I think. They are a neat buggy, I never owned a tow'd and the only real Manx buggy I have owned, I got in a head on collision in it like 6 days after buying it, which sucked. I have had a ton of copies though, have one right now, they are an absolute blast to drive.
