Tonight i pulled the motor apart and started getting stuff ready to go to the machine shop. I kinda failed on disassemble photos tonight. But it went pretty smoothly. I had two head bolts break. They both left just enough protruding above the block deck to get a pair of vise grips and fully remove them. :ninja:  Other than that it cam apart pretty awesome actually. The only thing that I found was a cross threaded bolt that was in the exhaust manifold that was easily removed. Just need to get the hole staright and re tap it. Might even make it bigger and go with a heli coil. I found some very very minor cylinder scarring in cylinder number 5. Virtually no ridging on any of the cylinders. Pretty excited!! should be fairly inexpensive it machine the head and reassemble.

Goodnight all... Until Next time.. Oh and I am wanting some input on minor bolt ons that improve this stock l28. Been looking into the z32 (i believe) throttle body. Pacestetter Even tho I hate the company makes a pretty header. Does anyone know if any makes a better atomizing fuel delivery?

The larger throttle body is more of a headache I did the 240sx and I had to deal with a new throttle linkage. The z store sells ceramic headers that cost a little more but are a real piece of work mine looks great and keeps the bay cool by 50+ degree. Better injectors really made mine scream until I blow the engine up now its got a lt1. I noticed when I ported and polish the intake runners it brought out some more throttle response. And ditch the fan and get an electric it sure makes a difference. Looks like everything is coming nice and smooth keep it up Iam watching this.

I went to my brothers wedding this weekend. He lives in Wyoming. While i was there i stumbled upon a little bit of a gold mine. Im guessing anywhere from 72 to 76 ish Datsun 620 single cab short box. There is trash and junk piled in the back to the top on the cab and over flowing on to the ground. this screams to me two things. A.) They do not know what they have and B.) i can probably score this truck real cheap. unfortunately i didn't have my cam or phone with me but fear not when i go back down here in 2 weeks and ask about buying it I will shed all the photos to you guys B). well anyways that's all i got for now. Hopefully i will get this truck to put on the back burner while I continue this Z.

I have all the strut tubes cut and sectioned ready for the MR2 strut cartridges. Have to modify and machine some little collars to make the rear strut mounts accept the larger diameter strut rod. Hope to be cutting in the flares not this weekend but next!

I also had a very interesting conversation with a gentleman today. He has two 280's that he said he could probably part with some things, So I'm going out sometime this week to check out what he has. Hopefully I will be coming home with some hood vents, front and rear window trim, better wiper cowl, and maybe some extra stuff :)
