Mines an L18 and I broke it in with Dual 40mm side drafts on the way to Canby last year.......why this.....vv??

I would break the motor in using a down draft first bfore mving to the sidedrafts.

Why so you know your motor is all good before putting on the Sidedrafts.

SINCE HIS CARBS LOOK NEW MIGHT NOT BE A BIG DEAL.

If bought 2nd hand could be others peoples junk and your troublke shooting think its the motor when the carbs are out of sync jetted wrong ecttt.

This is only if you have a downdraft set up ready to go.(most people should have a spare set up).

A kid here where I lived had a new motor and used mikunis and he was fucking around for days trying everything to only find out the soppsed rebuilt mikunis had the accel pump diaphram in backwards from the last guy(he didnt try them cause he was broke and had to sell them)

i had to put these shorter horns i got from Pegasus on the back carb.  you can tell in the pic that there is barely any clearance with the short ones. the Weber ones definitely would not have worked.

Poly bushings? Make sure to drill holes in the T/C rod bushings.  Looks like you know what you're doing, but just a reminder in case you didn't do it.

Nice wagon, loving the speed of progress!

thanks.

i was wondering why i would drill holes in my new bushings then i came across this thread http://community.ratsun.net/topic/19378-tension-control-rods/ which went over a lot of things.  think i might drive around on them for  a bit then switch back to rubber or drill them.  how many holes and where would i drill?

thanks for the tip.

UPDATE

those short stacks weren't going to work so i had to get another set.  the new ones are perfect and i can put these filters on them.  i also went with a cable linkage.  the linkage is a bit stiff but, turned out nice.

i saw in someone else's thread that they used a piece of license plate so i figured why not.  it worked out great.  thanks guy

the right front strut was blown out so i broke down and got a set of coilovers from 510keeper.  very happy with the way they turned out.

i had to get some bump steer spacers because the castle nut wouldn't fit into the strut tube.

after all that i got it on the ground this afternoon, drove around the block a couple times and it runs and drives great.  i still need to adjust the carbs or something.  it seems like it's getting too much fuel.  i have my old 32/36 and a single side draft manifold.  maybe i'll play around with a couple of different setups and see if i can't get it dialed in.  i still need to get some pipes on the damn thing, shit was LOUD driving around this morning.  :D

Check the last post on the first page.  I forgot what issue of DQ that was from.

If you can swing it, Techno Toy Tuning T/C Rods are very nice...  but then you'd want everything else they make.

thanks.  i went back to rubber ones since the machine shop was lagging on drilling out my poly ones :/

You still running a point a ignition?

I see 1 red wire to the dizzy and see the ballast so I assume its a point dizzy & point coil

but im trying to figure out how this one red wire goes to the ballast. as if it is a point dizzy usually the one wire goes to the minus side coil. or this is a matchbox and Im not seeing the C wire to the module. assume the B wire is the postive
