Oregonhomeboy's 620 kc build(kinda late start)

Recommended Posts

So I guess I took my sweet time getting this build thread started, but here we go!

I missed a couple parts but this should cover most of it.

I found this 620 in 2011, fell in love at first sight. I had to have it.

Here she is minutes after getting her home

Got her for a steal with a bunch of extras. Her PO had got it for a project then said that he "couldn't keep it up," and got a camaro instead.

Nice, I really like the flares. Wish I had known about KCs before I got mine, but driving around with your knees in the air is what the cool kids do right? Do you have any specific plans for this truck?

Haha, I think we have all been there.

"I just want it to run well"

*Joins Ratsun*

"Maybe an LZ or SUs"

*First show/read and epic build thread*

"I want (insert high powered unobtainium engine)!"

Nothing wrong with just driving it and enjoying it. So far my 620 has been the most fun out of any vehicle I have owned. Its slow, rough around the edges, and drinks gas like a v8, but its old and awesome :P

So between finding this sludgy oil under my valve cover today..

And this, Oil in my raidiator. I don't know how it got there, gotta check the head.

This could also answer why my coolant is disappearing.

I'm pretty sure I've got my work cut out for me this summer. I'm ordering a gasket set and going to clean everything up.

I'm just waiting for them to get back into stock, Thanks for the info

dig the sheet metal door panels. do you know what gauge/thickness you used?

Thanks,

I believe it is 30-gauge, i could be a little bit off but it's definitely under 1mm

Valves are real dirty.

And finally the culprit, most likely why there is oil in my coolant...I think

looks like the culprit to me man!

if you haven't reassembled it yet then make sure to get in there with some razor blades and clean off the head and block surface the best you can!

And if you have a spare head bolt ask levi about making a tap to clean the head bolt threads
