Nice 240! You already know where I stand on the transmission decision lol. Can't wait to see what you do with this one. I think quite a few older project cars start out as just a get it fixed and running. Then you look at it and think that while I'm at it I'll do this as well. Before you know it your one time fixer upper has become a full blown project.

Just saw this reply !

Thanks Jon  ... yeah I def know where you stand on the transmission lol.

It seems you are right on the money.

I just want to make sure I have something in the end to drive lol (or close) ... versus tearing up cars all apart (good intentions) like I did when I was 13-14-ish ...

Yup lol. Your's doesn't start or stop ?

Stop. Yes. Start.... That's a whole nother story. I lack a motor :/ tryin to find work without wheels and a license isn't as easy as people make it out too be :/ so I lack fundage. Eh, someday the underdog shall rise above!

Well... I've been trying to be careful with my money , but parts must be ordered for reliability and enjoyability

I do know what I "think" it will cost to repair something ... usually ends up being 2-3x that ... (larger spectrum thinking) SO I learned to order only what I really need on that basis , and sometimes extras that should be done while in the area

Ordered what I consider to be ... a few parts ... even parts for more than 1 car :sneaky:

-----------------------------------------------------------

-(4) half-shaft u-joints

-(4) driveline u-joints

-(1) 225mm release bearing

-(4) R180-R200 side shaft seals.

-(8) Front 240z Lug studs

-(8) Rear 240z Lug studs

-(2) slave cylinder "rebuild" kits.

-(1) 240mm 280zxt Clutch Disc

-----------------------------------------------------------

Blue240zrockorderlist_zps24aa2496.png

Same list BUT RockAuto confirmation style...

RockautoOrder6613_zpsd8d3e3bf.png

Amazon.com Ordering...

I need to/want to change my front pads to get a different "feel"... I put Beck-Arnley semi-metallics on them last time , and haven't been entirely happy. The pads work great when the car is rolling cold and haven't been used much. By the end of the day they "fade" just enough that it's annoying BUT not un-reliable at all ! IDK stfu DTP lol.

( It's also possible it's not the pads fault ... if that's the case I shall cry like little girl *russian accent* )

Wagner- ceramic brake pads $18.99 shipped to my door.

Blue240zceramicbrakepads_zps93a6d9a8.png

I also wanted to get a resonator or cherry-bomb of some kind to break up the droning (which I like , but I end up deaf sometimes in 10 minutes of rollin ... lol ) SO !.... I ordered this little bass-turd

Blue240zmuffler_zpsa815da7c.png

^^^ It was the "shortest" one I could find for what it is BUT I am using a Raptor turbo muffler in addition to this ^^^ "muffler" :ninja:

If this doesn't work (as far as cutting the edge of the droning off/out..)  I'm going to cut it off and get a Magnaflow or borla resonator.

I DO like the loud exhaust though ... lol

^^^ I don't really understand exhaust stuff other than ... it's pretty cool ... and seems to be a science !

Too bad Idk what the crap I'm doing with it

I ordered 3 items. One of them is irrelevant... audio cordless headphones for watching TV

blue240zordertotal_zpsb26310c8.png

^^^ silly update , but until I get my parts done , these come in , and other non-datsun stuff out of the way I'll be sitting on my hands lol.

Thanks for reading

I like how it went from only what I need to but I wanted this, all in one post. ADD ftw bro!

  ... to true Kirden  ... to true !

I contradict myself more often than I'd like to admit  (maybe I was trolling self ? trololol)

15-minutes in this little blue mini-beast and you'd be lookin for a resonator or second muffler to... hahaha ... it's cool ...

it's just you'd be taking 5-10 aspirin on a 2-hour one way drive (done it lol)

I have a brother .... his hearing is well :poop:(sorry bro if you're reading this) ... he even comments on the noise

I am kinda excited to see what it sounds like after the stuff gets installed :ninja:

Yea, these little datsuns cn be really loud at times. I have a hole (or 4-5) in my exhaust and 75mph for 20mins on the trip to and from work makes me hearing impared for a while. I only notice it when I get home at 4am and turn on my stereo and wake the neighbors...

I have this differential , and half-shafts to swap in.

I'll be putting in All new u-joints in the half-shafts and side-seals and rear-cover seal on the diff (pinion area looks good so I won't mess with it ..)

Rear diff is ready to go in (realistically) BUT... I shall be pressure washing this and the half-shafts with a thorough cleaning/bath.

Then some paint or powder coat :D  muahahaha

1370997405_zpsfa273d3e.jpg

Oh yeah ! I ended up using the "older" matching R180 shaft bolts (the ones that came out of my 3.36) in the "newer" R180 diff ...

I "believe the bolts would meet in the center and *bind* when tightened down.

I should have known better... but quickly realized it wasn't meant to be after a few seconds ( I guess I liked the newer shiney bolts and thought a thread or two longer wouldn't be enough to make a difference... errrr was wrong ... lol )

1370997430_zps7b8dfefa.jpg

Cool looking diff

I also got my Wagner Ceramic Brake pads today.

I'll be putting these on shortly hopefully ! ( They are not entirely clear on the instructions of lubrication and type ... or maybe I'm just slow.. lol )

I don't know anything about these .... have good hopes .... if they're crap I'll say so later on... lol
