210/1200 brake upgrade

DaveC, who owns the black Advan #24 black 1200 coupe, asked me to come-up with a brake upgrade for Datsun 210 front suspension he is putting on his car. By using 210 LCA's and struts with 1200 strut top it is a bolt in swap. It adds more negative camber to the front wheels, but also adds ablout 2" to the track width.

Brake up grade, 210 captured rotor 245mm- bolts to back of the front hub. Up grade to 200sx floating 269mm rear rotor.

Front hub need to be turned or ground down to fit inside 200sx rotor hat. A little over .250" total.

Hat mounted on strut.

Caliper bracket and spacers I had laser cut, with machined spacers.

Used 1984 Sentra front caliper, 48mm bore-same as 1200 caliper bore, don't need to change to larger master cylinder, mounted to bracket.

Brake mod also had to clear 13" Watanabe Wheels.

It does allow MOST 13" wheels to fit...mostly wheel that measure 11.750" straight across the inside of the wheel at the mounting surface.

And these Gotti knock-offs

The pad area is 25% larger than stock 210 pad and the rotor went from 9.65" to 10.59", the rear 200sx rear rotor is the same as 79-81 280zx rear rotors. Both slotted, drilled OR slotted and drilled rotors are available, cost about $40-$50 each, more for drilled and slotted. 82-90 sentra 48mm calipers, remans about $45.00 each. Brake kit bracket, spacer and bolts to be determined as this is designed for datsun 1200 application ONLY!

I am looking into similar design for the 210 guys, using 50.8mm calipers if there is any interest.

Not to be contradictory, but we've put 210 suspension on 3 different 1200s and never noticed any appreciable camber gain or any additional track width? If it did, the difference was very slight. Maybe I'm crazy...

210 struts will push the track out ~30mm because while the 210 LCA is is otherwise identical to 1200 LCA, the 210 balljoints stick out further. For this reason it will reduce camber slightly. The track increase can be avoided by using the Canada 12" ball joints.

The add 1/2" more track because theses rotors fit over the 210 hubs.
