Good question... but honestly, 99.9 percent of people who see the exterior wont see under the hood.. its not worth it to a lot of people.

Looks good on the outside, has a modern, reliable and powerful drivetrain underneath, why critique? Seems like a good vehicle to me.

 

It's a good vehicle.. just a poor life decision.

1982 280ZX turbocharger was removed from the 2.8L L28ET engine and the manifold was modified to fit a different Garret turbo. The inline-six features a P90 head and F54 block and the following modifications:

  • Tial 44mm external waste gate with custom dump tubes
  • Greddy type R BOV
  • Tech3 manual boost controller
  • Custom intercooler
  • Custom interooler piping by spoolin performance

  • 60mm throttle body
  • JSK Fuel Rail with fuel pressure gauge
  • Bosch 440cc injectors.
  • Bosch 044 fuel pump.
  • -6an steel braided fuel lines
  • Aeromotive Fuel pressure regulator
  • MSD 6al ignition box
  • MSD Blaster 2 coil.
  • NGK Iridium 7 heat range spark plugs
  • Champion aluminum radiator.
  • two 12″ electric cooling fans
  • 160 degree range Nissan thermostat
  • Z31 ECU with Nistune board installed
  • Z32 Mass Airflow meter

280ZX 5-speed manual transmission features a short shifter with an R200 differential with gearing ratio of 3.7:1. While the clutch throw-out bearing is said to be a little noisey, it reportedly does not slip. A spare 5-speed manual transmission is included. Suspension modifications include:

  • Datsun Spirit Coilovers
  • 250lb springs
  • Tokico illumina shocks
  • Front Cusco pillow ball mounts
  • Front Cusco strut bar
  • Custom welded rear strut bar
  • MSA 1” front and rear sway bars
  • MSA camber eccentrics for front and rear control arms
  • Full Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings

I thought this sold already back the last time he listed it. Cause I was about to buy it. Is this still Dave's? I know it's his old pictures. But of course it must be fate because I don't have the monies now.
