az240z
Hi all, I'm looking at the above. Its an auto,150,000 miles, has a minor ding on the drivers side rear but no other visible damage or rust, has the A14 engine and runs ok. Is there anything particular I should check out?? I'm familiar with Z's and know what to look for on those and am wondering if its the same for this?? Also what is a non restored value for this. Being unrestored, the paint is original and could be returned to a shine, stock wheels, and a poor interior except for the door cards. The owner says it needs a starter, shocks and a new ignition switch with key. The ignition switch is what worries me as I don't know what its availability is. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated. Quote Link to comment

Sierra
You can get an ignition switch with a new set of keys @ rockauto.com for cheap and is easy to install. Quote Link to comment
az240z
Well just got back from looking it over and helping the owner getting it running. It has no rust that I could see, I didn't get the carpets up to check the floor boards but from underneath and engine bay I saw none. The weather stripping looks good still soft and pliable, windows are tinted, carpet has seen better days, all; the lights work and appear to be uncracked. The dash has a couple of cracks, interior plastic is very dirty, the owner is going to paint them a light brown, they are currently beige . He is replacing the front seats with some buckets from a Ford escort. They don't match but are in good condition and the datsun frame rails fit. The a/c is there but not working, the wiring is messed up. Exterior wise it is the original paint with 3 stripes down the center. He's going to redo 2 of them to silver and black. He paints cars for a living so painting the pin stripes and the interior should't be a problem. It does need shocks, stock wheels w/hubcaps, and 13" tires which appear to be in good condition. I'm wondering, I have some 14" wheels from a z with new tires, would they fit?? Really its worth $3500, what would the value be with a 5 spd?? Quote Link to comment
king bee66
210 wagons cap out at about 2k id think. the one youre looking at is probably 1k, hard to say with no pictures. a 5spd is worth more out of the car then in it, a good working 5spd could bring up to about 400. in a car, it may increase the value 2. b210s/210s arent like z cars, z cars have a lot of crossover appeal from sportscar guys or people into non-datsuns. 210s, on the otherhand, were built as economy cars and will never really escape that stigma. if you like the car and its rust free like you claimed, go ahead and buy it, just dont pay an arm and a leg for it expecting it to appreciate in value anytime soon. Bentaxlebob
You're probably talking about a 210 wagon. B210 wagons and Vans ( like a wagon with blocked out rear glass and 2 doors instead of 4 doors ) were not available in US. Unless, off course, some cross over lone ranger wagon from alien lands made it to US. Quote Link to comment
az240z
The ID plate called it a B310 mfg 01/79. Trim plate on rear hatch says b210 Quote Link to comment
KELMO
01/79 would make it a 210 Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Trim plate on rear hatch says b210 Look closer. It says 210. Or someone swapped out the rear badge. Side note, the B210 wagon was never sold in the US. B) Quote Link to comment
