difrangia
I started a project a day or two ago that I've had on back burner for a decade or two; fabbing a mini 'Whale-Tail' spoiler for our 1961 FIAT 500D in place of the engine lid. Back in the day, many times on the 500 & 600 based sedans the original lid was propped up with fabricated struts to allow excess heat to exit the rear engine compartment and which also exposed the micro-beast under one liter engine for all the world to see. Like this 1967 FIAT 600 based FIAT Abarth 1000 TC Berlina Corsa: Some enterprising souls fabricated one-off aerodynamic spoilers for their cars. Like this 1000 TC Berlina Corsa: Sorry, couldn't find a red one !! So, I've started on something, 'to be determined', for our FIAT 500D that looks like this now: Alrighty, I'm using one of the unrestored 500's for a mule to model a spoiler on, and there is no engine in it. Instead, I've stored 8 or 10 ring binders of ad paste-ups there that I salvaged from an old local newspaper company that went out of business about 1980 and forgot about. When I took the engine lid off, there they were and I just had to scan through a few. A quick look at one or two turned up this sheet for 1973 Pontiac Firebirds. I'm gonna look through some more and see if anything just jumps out at me. Quick look shows what looks like 1971-1977 and so far Olds, Pontiac, and Mercury (Eyes open for Pantera). If I find some more goodies, I may post. (Also a good chance to sneak in some FIAT !!). 2 Quote Link to comment
difrangia
Passionate about those early Dinos !!! As a 40+ year subscriber of 'Road & Track' magazine and with Italian ancestry, the 'Dino' saga resonates with me. http://www.concourselegance.com/alfredo-dino-ferrari-died-from-duchenne-muscular-dystrophy-60-years-ago-2/ No !! I've never owned one. 1 Quote Link to comment

The owner told me that it was a Fiat Abarth Nurburgring Special.Cool car! I also saw a modified 600 (?) when I was in Brumos Porsche's shop, across from the dealership,in Jacksonville,Florida.
